A plea, a longing for more.
More than what the eye can see and comprehend.
More than what can be grasped in this tangible world.
This body of work flows from the push and pull of the artist’s everydayness, as a means of grasping for the more, of searching to understand. – It is but a glimpse of the life beyond life.
Images have a beautiful way of expressing experiences that we can not put words to. This is often evident in our speech when we explain an object, experience or feeling by comparing it to another. There is a compulsion to capture moments that speak to so much more that just the seen image. These works form part of an ever growing body of work that aims to explore beyond the seen, expressible world through the use of visual metaphors.
“Metaphors drawn from the sense of sight are much more vivid, virtually placing within the range of our mental vision objects not actually visible to our sight.” James Geary
