Creative Round Art Academy is a community-driven initiative based at the historic Rust-en-Vrede Gallery + Clay Museum in Durbanville. The academy fosters creativity, cultural engagement, and community empowerment by offering accessible art and craft education for all ages.
Through workshops, classes, and skills development across disciplines such as painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, and craft, alongside practical training in branding, marketing, and financial management, the academy equips learners to turn creative talent into sustainable careers.
Rooted in a heritage landmark and strengthened by partnerships with artists, schools, and cultural organisations, Creative Round Art Academy delivers programmes of international standard while expanding access to art education, mentorship, and entrepreneurial pathways for under-resourced communities in Durbanville and greater Cape Town.
Art Education is our passion. Highlighting the importance of exposure to the arts. Exposure to the arts aids in: Self-Expression & Emotional Intelligence,
Cognitive Development, Mental Health & Well-being to name but a few.
Our aim is to equip learners to turn creative talent into sustainable careers. This not only fosters Social Connection but drives economic growth & innovation within our communities.
Exposure to the arts promotes cross cultural understanding by preserving history, traditions & culture. It exposes people to diverse cultures & worldviews.
We are looking for workshop facilitators who can present fun, educational and interactive workshops for beginners, mid-level and professional creatives.
Young artists need guidance to reach their potential and navigate the art world. As a mentor, you share experience, advice, and support in creative direction, business skills, or both.
The Creative Round Art Academy is reliant on outside funding to continue bringing quality educational workshops to our local, extended and disadvantaged communities.
